Griffith Observatory’s membership and support partner, Friends Of The Observatory, hosts a special screening of CNN Films' Apollo 11 movie. It documents the splendor and emotion of the Apollo 11 mission using newly discovered 70-mm film never seen before.


Griffith Observatory hosts a FREE public star party from 2:00 p.m. until 9:45 p.m. with a special focus on the Moon. Telescope viewing provided by the Observatory and volunteers from the Los Angeles Astronomical Society (LAAS), Los Angeles Sidewalk Astronomers, and Planetary Society.

The Observatory, Cafe at the End of the Universe, and Stellar Emporium are open to the public all day.


Apollo 11 film plays in the Leonard Nimoy Event Horizon theater.

Film screening: $15 for FOTO members; $20 for non-members. FREE guaranteed parking with reservation


Reservations are required to access event parking. In the case of sold-out shows, ticket sales will close. There is no wait-list. No refunds are available.
