FOTO volunteers enable us to connect to the community. As a member of the FOTO volunteer corps, you'll collaborate with staff and other volunteers to support and promote Griffith Observatory. Here's how to get involved...
With the long-awaited rebirth of our popular icon, Friends Of The Observatory needs volunteers to assist with the influx of new members by:
Helping members take advantage of their benefits while visiting Griffith Observatory
Encouraging visitors to join FOTO and support Griffith Observatory
Assisting staff with events and administrator projects
It is important to understand that these tasks do NOT involve any kind of interpretive work of the museum exhibits or of astronomy and that the Observatory has guide staff to fulfill this need. If that would interest you, please check http://griffithobservatory.org/about/employment.html to seek current openings.
Please note that our minimum volunteer age is 18, as Friends Of The Observatory follows guidelines set by Griffith Observatory’s own staffing requirements. A good resource to explore additional volunteer opportunities that may be right for you is www.volunteermatch.org.
