Make a contribution and make a difference…
Show your support for the world’s premier public observatory with a contribution to Friends Of The Observatory (FOTO), the membership organization that supports Griffith Observatory. Since 1978 FOTO has worked to extend the scope and reach of the Observatory’s programs, facilities and exhibits.
FOTO engages children and adults in scientific inquiry and encourages the development of interest and enthusiasm for science. We are making a difference in young minds everywhere…Inspiring the Future, One Imagination at a Time.
Donations can be made securely on-line, or via telephone with our FOTO staff members at 213-473-0879. Donations are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law. Contributing is easy. Simply choose the way you would like to help:
FOTO programs include our Cosmic Musings Lecture Series, our Travel Program chasing astronomical sights all over the world and our Cosmic Conjunction annual festival. Perhaps most critical, is the School Field Trip and Bus Scholarship programs that bring children from all over the Southland to Griffith Observatory. We are very proud of our sponsors and encourage you to consider sponsorship of one of our fine programs. Griffith Observatory has always been an icon of Los Angeles, in part because of its majestic and glorious Beaux Art architecture. Now with the addition of a more modern expansion, our architectural sponsors have many choices about what they can support. Contributions made towards the exhibit program were part of our watchword of EXCELLENCE. Always choosing the most informed and best scientists, designers, fabricators and installers meant that each of our exhibit sponsors had the opportunity to help us make careful decisions that are reflected in the scientific accuracy, beauty and ease of use of all of our exhibits. During the planning and implementing of the dreams for the newly restored and expanded Griffith Observatory, these organizations made contributions that allowed us to move forward and complete the process of creating an extraordinary Griffith Observatory. |
